Dear Fifth Grade Parents,
Well September has surely flown by! We are now well into our school year, and the students have adjusted nicely to the class rules and routines. In math, students have been introduced to decimals and will continue to work with them for the next few weeks. In science, we have been discussing matter, a topic that will remain with us into our next two chapters.
October is an exciting time here at St. Ann School. This past weekend was Comic Con, which was a huge success! There is no school for Columbus Day, Monday, October 10. October 12, is Pocketbook Bingo. Progress Reports will be going out October 13. This means we are halfway to our first report card! There is no school October 20 and 21 due to a Teachers' Conference and Confirmation. The Wrestling Event at school is October 22. There is a clothing drive October 23 from 9am-2pm. There is a 12:00 dismissal on October 26, followed by Halloween party that evening 6:00pm-9:00pm for the older grades. There is no aftercare this day. Students can wear their Halloween costumes on Monday, October 31. On this day, there will be a Trunk-or-Treat activity and cupcake sale.
Please, if you have not yet joined my Remind, please do! I am enjoying teaching your children and cannot wait for another great month in fifth grade!
Yours truly,
Mrs. Pennacchio
