Dear Fifth Grade Parents,
Well, September has surely flown by! We are now well into our school year, and the students have adjusted nicely to the class rules and routines. In math, students have been introduced to decimals and will continue to work with them for the next few weeks. In Science, we have been discussing matter, a topic that will remain with us into our next two chapters.
October is an exciting time here at St. Ann School. Today, October 1, we had our first bagel breakfast of the year and also the first Friday mass as a school. We have two Pizza Days this month, October 7 and October 19. Progress Reports will be going out October 8. This means we are halfway to our first report card! There is no school for Columbus Day, Monday, October 11. There is a clothing drive October 17 from 9am-2pm. There is a 12:00 dismissal on October 22. Right after dismissal there is the Family Fun Fall Festival from 12:30-4:30. Students can wear their Halloween costumes on Thursday October 28. On this day will be our Trunk-or-Treat activity. There is no school on October 29.
I am enjoying teaching your children and cannot wait for another great month in fifth grade!
Yours truly,
Mrs. Pennacchio
