Dear Fifth Grade Parents, I cannot believe how fast the first quarter has gone! The first quarter ends November 10, and Parent-Teacher Conferences are Monday, November 21 from 6:30 - 9:30, and Tuesday, November 22 12:00-2:00. In order to receive your child’s first report card, you must come to see me individually on one of those days. If for some reason you are unable to make it at this time, please contact me and make an appointment to see me at another time. You will not receive your child’s report card unless you see me in person. It is so important that we meet to touch base on your child's progress. Write down in advance any questions you may have. I look forward to meeting with each of you! Our school trip on October 27 was very successful. The children had a great time at the movies. I was proud of their behavior on the trip. I will be planning more trips. Starting this month, the fifth grade will be involved in a program called “Too Good for Drugs.” It is a program that partners schools with our local police officers to educate kids about making the right choice and empowers them to be a good influence in their community. This will take place for a half hour on Monday afternoons for about seven weeks. Other important dates this month:
November 1 - All Saints Day - Mass as a School
November 4 - First Friday Mass as a School
November 10 - Half Day 11:00 AM dismissal
November 11 - No School - Veterans’ Day
November 17 - Home School Association Meeting - 8pm
November 18 - Basket Raffle - 6:00pm
November 21 - P/T Conferences - 6:00-8:00
November 22 - Half Day - 11:00 Dismissal - Cupcake Sale - P/T Conferences 12:00-2:00
November 23 - Half Day - 11:00 Dismissal

I look forward to meeting with you at the parent teacher conference and to another great month here in the third grade at St. Ann School! Have a happy, healthy and blessed Thanksgiving!
