Dear Fifth Grade Parents,
Welcome to 2022!! I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincerest thanks for your generosity during this holiday season. I would also like to wish you a happy and healthy New Year!
Hopefully everyone is fully rested and ready to start the second half of the school year! We still have lots to accomplish in the fifth grade. If we continue to work as hard as we have, I have no doubt that we will continue to be as successful as we have been thus far.
Being that it is the middle of the school year, midterms will begin on January 18. At the bottom of this letter, you will find the schedule and outline of what will be covered in the midterm tests. I also sent a hard copy home and posted it on google classroom. All material will be reviewed and covered before the tests. I will not be testing the children on anything I did not cover in class. If there are any changes in the outline below, I will inform the students as soon as possible. Students must have silent reading books, pens and sharpened pencils everyday, especially during midterms.
We have lots to learn this month! In math, students will work on GCF, LCM and fractions. In Science, we will be starting Unit 3: Hydrosphere and Biosphere.
Important dates this month:
Yours truly,
Mrs. Pennacchio
