100th Day of School - February 15,2022
The hundredth day of school is upon us!
We have planned some very special 100 day activities to celebrate! In preparation, I am asking each student to create a shirt at home with "100 objects” reflecting the theme of the hundredth day of school.
Some ideas to use on the shirt are:
Stickers , dots, pictures , beads, candies, etc…
Fabric paint works great!
The shirts may even be themed for things such as sports, teams, music, school, etc..
Be creative & have fun!
You may wear your “100th Day” shirt to school on Tuesday, February 15!
Dear Fifth Grade Parents,
I hope you have been enjoying all the snow we have been hit with! It is hard to believe that the second quarter has now come and gone. Report cards go out Monday, February 7, and today starts a fresh third quarter! It is important to work very hard these next two quarters.
We have lots to learn this month! In math, students will continue to work with fractions. We will focus on improper fractions, mixed numbers and then move on to adding and subtracting. In Science, we continue to work with Unit 3: Hydrosphere and Biosphere. Our current focus is water as a natural resource. In religion, we will continue studying our sacraments heading into the healing sacraments.
February is a busy month! There are many great events planned Catholic School Week. Here are some important dates:
2/1 - Grade 8 Pageant ( We will watch virtually)
2/2 - Color Wars (Your students should know what team they are on)
2/3 - Comfy Cozy Day (Wear pajamas)
2/4 - Kids Bingo and 12pm Dismissal
2/7 - Report Cards
2/10 - Pizza DAy
2/11 - 12 pm Dismissal
2/14 - VALENTINE’S DAY - Donut day and Wear RED!
2/21 - NO SCHOOL - President’s Day
2/23 - Pizza Day
I look forward to another great month here in the fifth grade.
Sincerely,
Mrs.Pennacchio
