EIGHTH GRADE REMINDERS: A look at our next two weeks:
*Monday June 2nd - Thursday June 5th- Regular School Days- dismissal at 2:30 pm*
Wednesday June 4th- Religion Archdiocese Final Exam- Graduation practice in the afternoon
Thursday, June 5th- Regular School Day- Graduation Practice in the afternoon- Last FULL day of school
Friday, June 6th - NO DRESS DOWN
- Passing of the Torch Ceremony in the Church followed by 9AM Mass
- 11 AM Dismissal
Monday, June 9 - 8th Grade comes in 12:30-2:30 GRADUATION PRACTICE
***All graduation letters and letters to future self due today!
***TWIN DAY - Dress like a friend(s)
Tuesday, June 10 - 8th Grade comes in 10:00-11:30 GRADUATION PRACTICE
***HIGH SCHOOL T SHIRT/COLOR DAY - Wear your high school t-shirt or colors today!
Wednesday, June 11 - 8th Grade comes in 12:30-2:30 - GRADUATION PRACTICE
*** Wonderful World of Sports Wednesday – wear your favorite team jersey and play some sports
Thursday, June 12 - 8th Grade comes in 10:00-11:30 GRADUATION PRACTICE - this is the last day of classes for the 8th Grade. They do not come back after this other than graduation and prom!
****PATRIOT PRIDE DAY - Wear as much Patriot pride as you can - Red and white socks, shorts, hair bows, whatever you can think of!
Friday, June 13 - GRADUATION MASS - Please drop 8th graders off dressed in cap and gown at school at 8:15 and head over to Church to obtain seats for the 9am Mass. The first four pews on both sides are reserved for the graduates. The boys should bring their jackets on a hanger when they come into school. The boys must wear dress pants, dress shoes, a plain white button up shirt, and the red tie that comes with the cap and gown. The girls should be in an appropriate white or light colored dress and white dress shoes. NO sneakers for boys or girls. Girls may get their nails done. No highlights or heavy make-up. No decorating of the cap is allowed. No corsages or boutonnieres. After the mass please take their caps and gowns. The students come back to school to have breakfast and receive their yearbooks. They will watch their video yearbook together. You can pick them up at 11/11:15 at the front doors!
GRADUATION CEREMONY - Please drop the students off dressed in cap and gown at school at 1:30 - no later! You can then go to Church to find your seats. The first SIX pews on both sides are reserved for graduates and faculty. The boys do NOT need their jackets this time. There are no personal photographers or personal videoing from the aisles allowed. Please be respectful and no loud hooting, hollering, yelling out names, etc. during the graduation. It is a dignified ceremony and takes place inside a church. The ceremony itself will last about an hour to an hour and a half. There are no tickets for the mass or ceremony or a limit to whom you can invite. Typically the graduates take pictures on the front steps of the Church after the ceremony.
Monday, June 16 - PROM! 6:00-9:00 St. Ann Gym
Meet on the front steps of the school at 5:45 to take your class picture and then students only inside to celebrate! Boys MUST have a tie and jacket. Again, no sneakers for boys or girls. Boys can wear any color shirt, ties, suits they want for the prom. Girls' dresses must be age appropriate and Catholic school appropriate :) Parents are invited back at 8:45 to watch the end of the dance!
