Dear Parents/Guardians and students,
We are officially in the 4th quarter! If your child is failing a subject, it is important that we meet to discuss strategies that may help him/her with progression. The Math state test is scheduled for the first week of May. Students should be practicing their math skills at home on engageny.com and thatquiz.org. Children should get a good night's rest, eat breakfast and bring in several sharpened pencils for the exam. They should do their best to stay calm and stress free, while doing their best.
We are finishing up the math curriculum and have started preparing for the Math state test. In 7th grade, we are doing geometry and are working with angle relationships (chapter 8). 8th graders are also on Chapter 8, working on their geometry skills with a focus on the surface area and volume of 3-dimensional figures. Students can practice their skills by visiting thatquiz.org. There are numerous topic areas that they can focus on. I've asked the children to visit this website and do some problems daily.
I thank all parents and guardians in advance for all the support they have shown and continue to provide. When we continue to work together, it makes a tremendous difference. It can only enrich our children in a positive way. For that I am grateful. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me.
Sincerely,
- Mrs. R. DeVito
